hiTechMODA Orlando and Orlando Swim Week

Congratulations to Cover Model Gigi Michele, who won the cover being named Orlando Swim Week Super Model.

Thank you, Orlando, for welcoming hiTechMODA Productions to our 2nd season of fashion in the great state of Florida. The event, spanning three days at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs, featured looks from seven swimwear designers, four designers on our first Latino Runway, and 11 runways featuring fashion for children, teens, and adults. Guests appreciated every runway (all shows in this magazine) and particularly loved the poolside venue for Orlando Swim Week. Entertainment by Entertainment City Production brought a festive air to the event, and the performance by DJ Cole was a perfect transition to our kick-off party. The event was further energized with the appearance of Triton delivering the International Mermaid to the sea - a marvelous performance by Brandon Yates as Triton and Faith Dickinson as the International Mermaid.

Co-producer, Omayra La Bella, brought her unique energy and creativity to this event, working directly with me in organizing, promoting, and marketing this event. Omayra is a seasoned hiTechMODA NYFW model and is a prominent business owner. She is the Co-Chair of the Ambassadors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Central Florida. Her passion for hiTechMODA’s Latino Runway contributed to the successful launch of this runway that featured the work of Latino designers. Working with government offices, Omarya facilitated a proclamation from the Orange County government recognizing hiTechMODA for its yearly Orlando SWIM WEEK event, which was presented to me during the weekend.

This season brought a special group of models to the hiTechMODA runway. Students from nonPareil Institute, post-secondary, not-for-profit serving adults with autism spectrum disorder, walked the runway, aptly demonstrating the success of nonPareil in providing training that enables adults with autism to acquire skills that will enhance their ability to live a more productive and independent life. With physical locations in Texas and one in Florida, NonPareil also offers nP Online, virtual training to students living outside the areas of their in-person sites.
